On the second day of the 2025 General Assembly, Disciples worshipped with local churches across Memphis and surrounding communities, embodying the spirit of connection and unity. In the afternoon, attendees engaged in meaningful service through mission projects—packing backpacks for children, assembling kits for people experiencing homelessness, donating blood, writing messages of encouragement, and contributing to the life-changing work of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
The day culminated in a powerful evening worship experience that began with a stirring performance by the Samulnori Korean Drum Team. Rev. Brian Kirk, joined by visual artist Johnathan Loesch, invited the Church into a spirit of love and harmony through word and art. Rev. April Lewton followed, reminding us of the sacred role of covenant in our life together. The service concluded with the Disciples Mission Fund Offering, led by Rev. Yvonne Gilmore, a moment of collective generosity and shared purpose. |
