Day 3 of the 2025 General Assembly was filled with energy, wisdom, and powerful reminders of who we are called to be as Disciples.
The morning began with engaging and insightful workshops, along with two impactful Keynote Speakers—Rev. Dr. Lee Butler, Jr. and Rev. Dr. Matthew Skinner—who offered deep reflections that challenged and inspired. In the afternoon, the Assembly heard important business reports from our General Ministries, celebrating the faithful work being done across the life of the Church.
The day concluded with a moving, spirit-filled worship service featuring the 2025 General Assembly Choir. We were blessed by the presence of our ecumenical partners and received greetings from the General Secretary of the World Council of Churches, Rev. Prof. Dr. Jerry Pillay.
Rev. Dr. Stephen Cady brought a powerful word, reminding us that our tables are meant for all. Sometimes, that means making room—shifting just a little. He also reminded us that the voices we need to hear are already present—we simply have to listen. In closing, the Reconciliation Offering was collected, led by Rev. Dr. April Johnson, as we reaffirmed our commitment to anti-racism and reconciliation.
It was a day full of growth, grace, and glimpses of God’s transformative love in action. |
