The General Board of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in the United States and Canada gathered in person on April 13-16, 2024, in Chicago, IL for worshipful work, collaboration, and discernment. At the opening gathering, General Minister and President, Rev. Terri Hord Owens presented the State of the Church. In it she highlighted ongoing initiatives of the church and celebrated the work of the church across the United States and Canada. | | | Greater Kansas City is the most compact region of our church. But before 2017, if you were searching for a faith community of both, you would be hard-pressed to find one. That was until Rev. Dr. Dionne Boyice created WHOSOEVER: Community of FAITH, a Facebook group that provides a safe space for LGBTQ+ folks, especially POC, who want to worship God. | | | The Christian Church Foundation Board of Directors met in Indianapolis, IN, April 21-23, 2024, for their spring meeting. The high point of the Board meeting was celebrating Rev. Randy Johnson’s 23 years of ministry through the Foundation as its Vice President, Southeast Zone, and his upcoming retirement. | | | The Office of General Minister and President is pleased to announce that more than 50 Disciples preachers have joined several newly created cohort peer groups.
