Dear Disciples,
As we celebrate the birth of Jesus, this good news of God-with-us that turns the world upside down, I am especially grateful for your generous gifts to Disciples Mission Fund. DMF helps the church work together as the one body of Christ so that we can be witnesses to the presence of God in our midst.
Think of all we have done together this year: - Ministries across the church collaborated in response to natural disasters, like the storms that ravaged Kentucky earlier this month, helping Disciples and their communities recover and rebuild.
- Hospital chaplains offered comfort and hope as they cared for patients and healthcare workers exhausted from the pandemic.
- Regional ministers helped congregations and pastors find each other so that new, life-giving ministries could begin.
- Mission co-workers around the world accompanied our global ministry partners in working for justice and caring for their local communities.
- Food pantries, housing ministries, and social service agencies worked faithfully and compassionately to meet the basic human needs of their neighbors.
- In classrooms and on Zoom screens, college and seminary students were supported as they grow into leaders who are already serving the church in new and innovative ways.
- The whole church gathered online for last summer’s Virtual Gathering, providing connection in a year when we couldn’t hold a General Assembly.
- Disciples put their faith into action by advocating for a more just and equitable world, living out our conviction that all are welcome at the table.
All this work – and so much more – is supported by gifts to Disciples Mission Fund. Congregations and individuals make financial contributions throughout the year, and together we are able to do so much more than we ever could on our own.
DMF really does transform lives and makes ministry happen.
I am so grateful to be part of this work. Would you join me in making a year-end gift to Disciples Mission Fund? Together, we can help our ministries finish the year strong and be ready to share the good news of God’s limitless love in 2022 and beyond.
