During his ministry, Pastor Young Kang has witnessed a painful exodus of 1.5- and second-generation Korean Americans from the Korean Methodist Church. They weren't rejecting their faith but responding to the hierarchies of many of their immigrant churches, limitations of a Korea-based denomination, and a failure to address their complex identity questions. With New Church Ministry's help, he's creating a Disciples congregation where they can navigate their dual culture.
