Rev. Terri Hord Owens, General Minister and President, shares a Christmastide greeting and a charge for the church. She reminds us that when the lights, music, and celebration come to a close, the true work of Christmas is only beginning— work that calls us to embody hope, justice, compassion, and love in the everyday moments that follow.

This Advent, most congregations will receive the Christmas Offering on December 14 and 21. This year’s theme, The Work of Christmas, reminds us that when the night goes silent and dark, Christ’s work continues among us. 100% of every gift supports Regional Ministries: calling and nurturing leaders, strengthening congregations, guiding discernment, caring for clergy, and empowering new ministries and initiatives. With every offering, the work of Christ in our Regions begin again.

Is your community of faith ready to take the first step in the planning process for its next project or the future of its mission? Whether it’s planning new construction, looking to update its place of worship, reimagining its ministry's vision, evaluating its facilities usage, or beginning to explore financial services, Disciples Church Extension Fund’s initial consultation is a great first step to address whatever your faith community’s needs are in the new year.
