    When Amanda Wagoner-Meade became Senior Minister of First Christian Church of Louisville, KY, the congregation was in recovery from the worst days of COVID-19. It had serious budget issues and a long list of maintenance tasks. The latter couldn’t be addressed due to the former—and then the roof caved in. With a Disciples Church Extension Fund's loan and fundraising guidance, FCC not only has a new roof, it also has more tools and confidence to face future challenges.

    On Thursday, October 23rd at 7:30pm ET/6:30pm CT NBA’s Justice Initiatives team is hosting the Medicaid, Medicare, SNAP, and You: What to Expect, What to Do webinar. Join us to learn about the implications of the “Big Beautiful Bill,” focusing on the effects on healthcare and food assistance programs, particularly Medicare, Medicaid, and SNAP. We will also explore ways for communities to resist it, as well as equip them for organizing, prophetic, and pastoral work.
