On Pentecost, the Spirit did not stay in one place. It moved outward — across languages, cultures, and every barrier people believed separated them. In that moment, a new kind of community was born, shaped by courage, generosity, and love. That same Spirit is still moving today. As we begin a new chapter in our triennium structure, the General Assembly will gather every year. This year General Assembly will be online July 10–11, 2026. Centered around the theme, BEYOND: Love Surpassing, inspired by Ephesians 3:14–21. What does it mean to be a Disciple? Young Adult Disciples explored this question in a recent Book Club hosted by the Office of the General Minister and President, engaging Terri Hord-Owens’ Staying at the Table: Being the Church We Say We Are. Their conversations reflected both the church’s current needs and its future, affirming they see it as a potent vessel for good in the world. To lift their voices, the group created a Spotify playlist capturing the “Disciples Vibes” that unite us in community. May it inspire us to imagine a better future and to keep asking what it means to be a Disciple.
