Special thanks are extended to Geist Christian Church and the Indiana Region for hosting the Spring meeting of the General Board of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) April 11-14, 2026. Four days of worshipful work included generous one time and recurring gifts to Disciples Mission Fund. In response to a challenge to give $5,000, the board exceeded the goal and gave $7,000. The Moderator Team responded to the gifts of the board by sharing their gifts. Moderator Cindy Kim-Hengst played the piano and Rae Karim, First Vice Moderator, shared an original poem.

Bob and Pat Howell of Amherst, Nova Scotia, who have served faithfully for many decades at Johnston Christian Park, a ministry of the Disciples of Christ congregations in Nova Scotia, Canada, retired on April 11, 2026. Most recently, Bob served as the Camp Chairperson for more than 40 years and Pat as Treasurer for 11 years. Local congregations plan to honour the couple at a special banquet during a family camp gathering at the camp, called Disciplefest, in early September.

As we begin a new chapter in our triennium structure, the General Assembly will gather online July 10–11, 2026. Disciples Divinity House and the Institute at Vanderbilt is hosting a Church and AI webinar for faith leaders. Artificial intelligence is already shaping the social, economic, and cultural life of our communities. Yet many faith leaders are still asking a basic question: what exactly is it, and why does it matter for the church? This introductory webinar provides a clear overview of artificial intelligence and how to use AI in ministry responsibly.

In many parts of the United States and Canada, communities of faith are enjoying the longer days and warmer weather. But winter’s departure brings a new host of maintenance issues to be addressed before welcoming the new season. To aid in your work, Disciples Church Extension Fund (DCEF) has put together this maintenance guide which you can print off and use as a checklist.
