    Exploring Christian Practices Initiative

    Lilly Endowment has announced its Exploring Christian Practices Initiative, which aims to multiply opportunities and increase access to settings that help individuals from a wide variety of backgrounds explore and engage in Christian practices to address their spiritual interests and questions, find and build community with others, nourish their religious lives and grow in faith.

    In this open and competitive initiative, the Endowment invites charitable organizations to submit proposals for grants of up to $2.5 million each that may be used for up to a five-year period.

    Last month we asked: Which of the following Holy Week services does your church hold: Palm Sunday, Passion Sunday, Maundy Thursday, Good Friday, Holy Saturday, Easter Vigil, Other? Here are your responses:

    Palm Sunday: 71.4%  vs. Passion Sunday: 28.6%
    Maundy Thursday: 71.4%
    Good Friday: 85.7%
    Easter Vigil: 14.3%
    (Other: A Prayer vigil from early Good Friday to early Easter Sunday morning, Easter Sunrise, and Easter Afterglow services).

    This Month's Question: Does your church have any traditions around the celebration of Easter? If so, what are they?
