Many of you are beginning your worship planning for the Lent season and Easter. As you follow Christ into the wilderness of Lent, consider what it means for the church to not just contribute to culture but also stand against culture—not out of fear, but because the church's message and witness stand in contrast to the world.
GROUNDED AND GROWING | LENT Grounded and Growing—Journeying from Lent to Easter By Ron Rienstra
In this journey from Ash Wednesday through Easter, we confront death and decay, the ashes of burnt branches and trees, making way for new life. While we journey with Christ through the wilderness we pray:
Ground us in your grace. Grow us in your love. Lead us in your way. Amen.
WORSHIP SERIES | LENT Aliens on the Way Services for Lent By Marlene Koster, Louis Roossien
Long ago, God promised the Jewish exiles "hope and a future" (Jeremiah 29:11). Jesus comes as the one who identifies himself as "The Way;" therefore, it is no surprise that the first Christians became known as the followers of "The Way." Through the church today, God continues to give people new identity, to make reconciliation possible where there is estrangement, and to offer hope and help along the way into a better future.
We noticed congregations across the United States, including the Virgin Islands, Canada, the United Kingdom and South Africa using Reformed Worship resources during this past Advent season. What about your worshiping community? Did you use material from Reformed Worship for your services during Advent and Christmas? Did you create additional resources to go along with something from RW or give it a unique spin? If you answered "yes" to any of those questions, we would like to hear from you via thisshort survey.
Meetups
Reformed Worship team members will be present at Psalms 150: A Conference Experience. It's not too late to sign up. If you notice us wearing our Reformed Worship button, come say hi and request your own button or sticker—limited supply available.
