Teresa “Terri” Hord Owens, General Minister and President of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) is among 22 church-based denominational leaders who penned a letter to President Biden urging a ceasefire and demilitarization of the crisis in the Middle East. The letter was coordinated by Churches for Middle East Peace, of which the Disciples are founding members. Learn More     Gwinwood Retreat Center sits on 29 acres of forested land in Lacey, WA. It’s surrounded by wetlands and on a good day, you can see Mt. Rainier. But on July 4, all Gwinwood’s neighbors could see was smoke. The camp’s main building, MacKinnon Lodge, was in flames. You’d think that the fire would spell nothing but disaster.
