Gwinwood Retreat Center sits on 29 acres of forested land in Lacey, WA. It’s surrounded by wetlands and on a good day, you can see Mt. Rainier. But on July 4, all Gwinwood’s neighbors could see was smoke. The camp’s main building, MacKinnon Lodge, was in flames. You’d think that the fire would spell nothing but disaster. Yet Gwinwood has taken this tragedy and turned it into an opportunity to partner with DCEF and change not only MacKinnon, but the facility itself. |
