  • There's a new Spirit at work in the Church.
  • DMF Day is TODAY
On August 6, 1801, a revival started on the grounds of the Cane Ridge Meeting House near Paris, Kentucky, under the leadership of pastor Barton W. Stone.

We’re marking the anniversary of one of the most important moments in our church’s history with a giving day to support Disciples Mission Fund. Will you make a #DMFday gift today?

Some accounts of the gathering say there were 20,000 people there, from a variety of faith traditions and all walks of life. For the better part of two weeks, they worshiped, sang, studied, and shared communion.

There is no doubt that the Holy Spirit was at work at Cane Ridge, calling forth a new movement that would become the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ).
And there is no doubt that the Holy Spirit is at work today, too. In this time of uncertainty and upheaval, when everything seems to be shifting under our feet, the Spirit is at work calling forth something new.

In the past few months, Disciples have worked together in incredible ways.
Regions have provided pastoral support and technical assistance to clergy and congregations figuring out how to worship online.
    • Summer camp programs, unable to meet in person, have gone virtual, offering youth a way to connect.
    • Ministry partners around the world have worked in their communities to care for those impacted by the pandemic.
    • Our General Minister has offered weekly prayers on Facebook and met regularly with pastors and chaplains for prayer and support.
    • Church leaders across the denomination have offered up prophetic statements and calls to action in the movement for racial justice.
    • Ministries that provide frontline services like food pantries and health clinics have received financial assistance to keep their operations running.

Disciples Mission Fund makes it possible for ministries like this to thrive.
