Press Statement: Dissolution of the Lagos Executive
Committee of AAC
On the 8th day of May 2019, members of the Lagos
State Branch of the African Action Congress (AAC)
converged at the state secretariat of the Party and
passed a successful motion of no-confidence on
the existing leadership of the Party in the State, and
subsequently set up a Caretaker Committee. This
step was in consonance with the provisions of the
Party’s constitution under sections 76(4) and 78.
The Caretaker Committee will work in active
collaboration with the national body of the African
Action Congress (AAC) to effectively bring the
values and beliefs of the Party to the people of
Lagos, and to actualise a true revolutionary change
that has been elusive in Lagos since the return of
democracy in 1999.
The Caretaker Committee is constituted as captured
below:
Adekunle Ajayi – Chairman
Tope Gbeke - Deputy Chairman
Omolara Alagbala - Women Leader
Banwo Olagokun – Organising Secretary
Moyo Adekanmbi - Financial Secretary
Jamiu Jamo Towolawi – Secretary
Musa Oluwasheyi – Treasurer
Ayinde Olawale - Youth Leader
Elias Ozikpu – Publicity Secretary
The Committee will remain active until fresh
elections are conducted at the AAC Lagos State
Congress slated to hold in October of 2019.
We ask the people of Lagos to throw the full weight
of their support behind AAC, as the Party works to
collaborate with them to wrestle Lagos from the
resolute grip of the oppressors after twenty
disastrous years.
The time is now!
Take It Back!
Signed:
Elias Ozikpu
Publicity Secretary, African Action Congress, Lagos
