New life from a new cemetery

A longstanding law in Japan requires people to register at a Buddhist temple to ensure a family gravesite. This is anchored in a deep cultural value on proper burial as a way to honor deceased family members. It also creates a conundrum for Christians in Japan. Do you still register at the temple and bury your family there, or do you abandon this cultural norm and your place in the family cemetery?
